Chi Lam Pictures is proud to share that Managing Director Chi Lam has been credited as a writer on a major Chinese heritage theatre project funded by Arts Council England.

The project, led by Ian Henery, began with two sold-out Mid-Autumn Festival performances and is set to conclude during Chinese New Year, reaching over 40,000 live audience members and up to 2 million online viewers.

Chi Lam worked alongside Polly Yiu and Vy-Liam Ng, developing the script through community workshops at the Birmingham Chinese Community Centre, led by Dr Martin Partridge.

The project was managed by Dr Ranjit Khutan and filmed by Diyodi Devinda Menon, combining theatre and digital storytelling to expand its reach.

Blending traditional Chinese storytelling with modern theatre, the final script delivers a powerful, authentic portrayal of Birmingham’s Chinese community and their lived experiences.

For Chi Lam Pictures, this marks a strong step forward in championing culturally grounded, community-driven storytelling.
